Maria's Theory
I have been studying the lines and animals in the desert for a LONG TIME now, and I think that I have found a conclusion. The lines were there in order to show when ceremonies where meant to take place - when the sun lined up with one of the lines, a sacrifice was meant to take place. The animals were there to show which god they were worshiping - if there was a line going through an animal, then they were giving a sacrifice to that god. If there was an animal without a line through it, then they would worship that god, but not make a sacrifice.

Well, I'm off to Machu Picchu. It looks like I missed the train so I guess I will have to take a hike on the Inca Trail... Sigh...
Apparently it's a four day hike, and I have NO BUG SPRAY! I should start hiking, but the trail looks soooooo steep. Inca Trail, here I come!
It's been 12 hours since I started hiking, and it's getting dark. I'd better find a place to stay for tonight... While I look around, I'll tell you what has happened so far... After about three hours, I came to a really steep part of the trail - It looked a bit like a mountain. Then, after climbing it, there was another one, and another one! Hopefully there won't be too many hills tomorrow. Choo! Chooooo! What was that?
I found the train!!! Hopefully the train will take me farther while I sleep..........zz..zzz...z...
It's day two of my journey, and I didn't get too far while I slept - Apparently the train took a little side trip, and I only got about two hours ahead of where I would of been if I hadn't got onto the train at all. So, to avoid incidents like that again, I have decided not to take any more trains, and to WALK!
Right now I have discovered that there are no more hills - at least for a while - So it looks like it won't be too hard to get to Machu Picchu.
Wow, it looks like a huge forest - well a forest for ants! There are a hole bunch of plants here. I'll tell you about my trip later...
Well, I think it's time to stop again. I've found a nice tree that to sleep next to. Anyways, while I was hiking on the trail, a small animal - with really short stubby legs - scramble across the trail. I followed it for a while, then I ended up here. Now that I look up to look for the moon, I find that I have actually walked around a hill. Maybe this will help me... But for now, I need to get some sleep.
It's day three of my hike to Machu Picchu, and I'm almost out of food! I guess I'll have to be carefull... Well, it started to rain over night, and I got a little wet - so did my food! Ahhh!
Hi again, I've decided to run most of the way so I will get there faster - and avoid the rain!

HI Again!
Hi everyone! Right now I am on a train - yes, I finally found one! Anyways, this train doesn't seem to be stopping in Columbia like it's supposed to, it's going the other way! In just a few minutes, I should be stopping in Guyana! I just hope I don't end up going so far that I end up back in Brazil! It's nice and, well, green there, but it's too humid for my taste! It looks like we've stopped again.
...
Sorry about that, I just had to make sure that I really am in Guyana, and not in Brazil or something... Well, I guess I'd better find somewhere to eat - I'm starving!
I can't find any restaurants around here, so I guess I'll just have to fill up on fruit - AGAIN! Wow that's a huge spider! I'm getting out of here!
...
Well, I've missed the train again, so I guess I'll have to rent another car...
...
I've finally found some transportation, so I guess I'll go someplace else now - hopefully one without spiders...
Wait, this place seems familiar... Oh no! I think I'm back in Venezuela! Great! I guess I should just stay here for a while until my luck gets better.
I might as well go fishing by the waterfall.
...
Well the fishing wasn't too good - all I caught was three little fish, then I fell in! What a horrible day. What's that noise? I think it's a train!
...
Finally, a chance to relax! I have checked with the driver, and I'm on my way to Columbia - for real this time!
All I need now is a place to eat and sleep tonight!
